Evaluation

Himno is a free-to-play, peaceful 2D platformer built around procedurally generated maps. The developer, David Moralejo Sánchez, created it as a personal relaxation project before releasing it publicly on April 26, 2019. Shortly after launch, an update on April 29, 2019 added the Wisp Garden system and a save system — the only post-launch major content update the game itself received. The developer's subsequent energy shifted almost entirely toward a separate standalone product, "Himno – The Silent Melody," which was announced in June 2019 and released in October 2021. The news posts from 2019 through 2022 that appear in this game's announcement feed are overwhelmingly previews and updates for that companion game, not for Himno itself. The April 2022 major content post (NEWS-1), for example, describes new biomes, weapons, and guardians — content that belongs to The Silent Melody, not to the original peaceful platformer. Himno itself has no unreleased DLC, no announced roadmap, no seasonal content structure, and no developer statement promising future updates to the base game. The store description frames it as a complete, relaxing experience with an infinite procedurally generated world — a game designed to be played as-is indefinitely, not one awaiting further development. The only DLC ever listed — the soundtrack — shipped on the same day as the game. The last meaningful update to Himno's own content was the April 29, 2019 patch, and no developer communication since has indicated further content is planned for the original game. It launched and was completed as a finished product.
Evidence
Developer announces Himno – The Silent Melody as a standalone sequel/expansion, indicating the developer's future content efforts are directed toward that separate title rather than the original Himno.

Post-launch update 1.1 added the Wisp Garden, wisp passives, and a save system. This appears to be the only substantive content update ever shipped for the original Himno game.

About this game

A quick note from the developer:

Himno was created a long time ago as a private project which I played to de-stress myself. Little by little I was getting in love, and that's why I decided to share it for free. If you enjoy simple games about platforming and parkour, this will catch you! The controls are super intuitive and easy to learn, and there is an endless amount of procedurally generated maps for you to explore and overcome in many different ways like the old 8-bit platformers.

An endless experience about jumping and watching the world created featuring:

  • Non-violent, no death.
  • Your actions in the world trigger vibrant visuals and emotional soundtracks by composer Dan Farley.
  • Wall-jumps, slides, dashes, moving platforms, lifts.
  • Play at your own pace without pressure.
  • Watch bright things dance around you.
  • Great for playing for a little while every now and then to discover some new maps.
  • Enjoyable by a wide variety of player skill.
