Julian & Friends launched on January 3, 2025 as a self-contained psychological horror interactive film. The developer shipped two bug-fix patches in November 2025 — one on November 14, 2025 adding Steam achievements and fixing a minigame, and a follow-up on November 17, 2025 fixing a crash and a final achievement. No expansions or DLC have been released or announced for this game.
On June 23, 2025, the developer posted a farewell message for the 98xx era, which included the line "Julian and his friends will return someday." On September 12, 2025, the developer confirmed that 98xx Rebooted had been canceled and that they had moved on to a brand-new project (SKY WORLD 64), noting they were "burnt out with the whole horror genre" and that "the whole 98xx thing with Julian & Friends has kind of died out now."
Most decisively, on September 13, 2026 — the most recent developer communication — the developer released the leftover files from the canceled 98xx Rebooted project and explicitly stated: "I will never be touching 98xx-related projects ever again." This directly supersedes the earlier "they will return someday" remark from June 2025. The developer has clearly and finally closed the door on this game's universe.
Julian & Friends is a complete, finished product. The last content-relevant update shipped on November 17, 2025.

STORY
Today is Julia’s birthday and you must help Julian set everything up to make the perfect surprise party for the love of his life! Julian will need help from all his friends too. Visit many places around town and help many characters with their shenanigans so that they might help you in return! Fly through space, sail across the sea, and go on many other wacky adventures with Julian and his friends!
GAMEPLAY
This experience plays like an interactive film, where most of the game has cutscenes and dialog, with some minigames in between. The game will change depending on what code you enter at the start. While some elements remain the same, the codes can change the outcome. Codes are unlocked as you progress, but the base game can still be played without inputting a code. Be careful as some codes have corrupt data so enter them at your own risk!

The happiest face you’ll ever see! Gerald is a happy-go-lucky fellow who never hesitates to share a smile with those who need it. However, he always makes sure that his shop is in shipshape!
Darcy is the angelic dancer who seems to never make a mistake. Perfection is her goal but is never afraid to encourage others who make mistakes themselves.
If you thought pencils couldn’t talk, then you’re wrong. Mr. Write’s goal is to ensure everyone knows the proper ways of writing. I mean what more do you expect from a pencil, right?
While being the ruler of an entire castle, Princess Angelica is as hyper and energetic as one could be. She’s always looking for an adventure and never hesitates to explore many areas in the land! However, she is most proud of her pet frogs, also known as “The Fantastic Frog Choir”!
Enjoy yourself witnessing the many shenanigans these wacky characters get themselves into! Let’s just hope they don’t get into any trouble.
