Evaluation
Jumpdrive launched out of Early Access on January 18, 2018. Four days later, on January 22, 2018, the developer (Justin, head of Meteoric Games) published an official statement acknowledging that the game had not met original ambitions and explaining why: the studio was small (at times just one programmer), all Early Access revenue had been spent on development, and sustaining it further was financially impossible. He apologized to players who expected more, explained the decision to release the game as-is and lower its price, and offered early supporters free access to the studio's next game. Crucially, there was no promise of further updates or additional content for Jumpdrive itself. This statement effectively marked the end of development. No news posts, patches, or announcements have appeared since January 2018. The game launched as a complete — if limited — product, and the developer has communicated no plans for further content.
Evidence
Developer Justin issued a formal apology stating that sustaining development was financially impossible for a small indie studio, that all Early Access revenue had been spent on development, and that the game was released as-is with a price reduction. No further content for Jumpdrive was promised.
Jumpdrive officially exited Early Access and launched fully on Steam. The developer acknowledged ambitious plans may have been too large for their small team and lowered the price to $9.99.
