KartKraft launched in Early Access in November 2018 and received consistent updates through its full 1.0 release on February 16, 2022. The game built a solid history of major content additions during Early Access: VR support (February 2019), the KZ2 shifter kart class (August 2019), the IAME KA100 class and thermal tyre model (December 2020), a major physics overhaul (February 2021), the multiplayer beta (December 2021), and finally the full release with the Monster Kart and Hangar Track (February 2022). Following the 1.0 launch, the developer posted two "community updates" in April and May 2022 explicitly committing to a roadmap of additional content: a new engine/class, multiple time-of-day track conditions in Q3 2022, and a full multiplayer racing mode targeted for Holiday 2022. A backend migration was completed in December 2022, which restored AI races and Time Trial mode. The last developer communication of any kind was a small bug fix post on December 23, 2022. Since December 23, 2022 — more than three years ago — there has been complete silence from the developer. The Q3 2022 content (new engine/class, time-of-day conditions) and the Holiday 2022 multiplayer racing mode were explicitly promised but never confirmed as shipped. The parent company, Motorsport Games, has faced significant reported financial difficulties during this period. The store description still references "Early Access content updates," suggesting it was never refreshed after the 1.0 launch. The game also requires a server connection to play, which adds a separate concern about long-term availability. Given the outstanding promised content and the extended developer silence with no explanation, it is unclear whether further development is ongoing or has quietly ended.
