Kero Blaster

Kero Blaster launched on Steam on November 11, 2015, as a complete, classically-styled 2D side-scrolling action game from the creator of Cave Story. It shipped with one DLC — Kero Rhythm — on launch day, and that DLC has been released. The only post-launch update of substance was a language expansion in March 2017, and most recently a Mac version released on June 29, 2023 — nearly eight years after the original Windows release. The developer has made no announcements of planned additional content, no roadmaps, and no expansions beyond what has already shipped. The store description makes no mention of future content; it describes the game as a finished product and points players to two free spinoffs (Pink Hour and Pink Heaven). The publisher's news feed is largely populated by announcements for entirely different games (Touhou Luna Nights, Gensokyo Night Festival, Giraffe and Annika, etc.), with no signals of ongoing development for Kero Blaster itself. The Mac release in June 2023 represents the most recent meaningful developer action for this title, and nothing since then points to further content. Kero Blaster appears to be a complete, finished game.
