Ketz: Galactic Overlords entered Steam Early Access on May 9, 2025 and has been actively developed since launch. The developer shipped a major content update — Chapter 2: The Cosmic Greenway — on July 18, 2025 (version 0.0.8), adding a new map, 12 new enemies, 3 new bosses, Tier 2 items, new monuments, challenges, and music. This was followed by a series of substantial feature patches and bug fixes, with the most recent communication on March 12, 2026. A live roadmap was published on May 27, 2025. Multiple pieces of future content have been explicitly announced: a sixth playable character wielding a whip-based weapon was teased in a July 11, 2025 devlog, a redesigned point-based Challenge Box system was outlined in detail in the same post, and the October 2025 patch notes stated "More environments, features, and challenges are on the way." The developer's messaging consistently frames the game as a work in progress with more content actively in development. The most recent developer communication was on March 12, 2026. While there has been no update since then (as of October 1, 2026), the game has been in Early Access for less than 18 months, has maintained a steady cadence of patches throughout, and has multiple announced but unshipped features.
