Knights of Pen and Paper +1 Edition launched on June 18, 2013 and received one paid expansion, Haunted Fall, which released on November 6, 2014. That expansion is the only DLC listed for the game, and it has been fully released. A sequel, Knights of Pen & Paper 2, was announced in March 2015 and released on May 14, 2015 — signaling that the studio had moved on from the original game to a new entry in the series. Since then, there has been no developer communication about new content for this title. The most recent studio news posts are about entirely separate games: Cosplay Club (announced for Early Access in December 2023) and Deep Dish Dungeon (a new game announced in August 2025 with a publishing deal from Raw Fury). Behold Studios is clearly active as a studio, but their focus is on new projects rather than this game. With one released DLC, a sequel having launched years ago, and no announcements of further content, this game is a complete package.

As both the playing characters AND the game master, players can choose which battles to fight. Put together a bunch of monsters to make for a challenging fight and your efforts will be equally rewarded!
Choose from multiple classes, such as knights and mages, pick your characters to control those classes, like grandma or kid brother, and take on the loads of quests, monsters, items and equipment littered throughout Knights of Pen & Paper +1 Edition. Blacksmiths, enchanters, mining, gathering, hidden treasures and a whole lot more await, giving players a lot of room to personalize their gameplay experience.
