Evaluation

Legends of Eisenwald released from Early Access on July 2, 2015, and has since received its full complement of promised post-launch content. The developer sold a Season Pass (released November 5, 2015) that bundled additional content, and explicitly stated in September 2017 [NEWS-4] that this Season Pass would include two more add-ons: a story expansion with "Bastard" in the name, and a short story collection. The "Bastard" standalone expansion shipped on May 14, 2018 [NEWS-2], completing the Season Pass commitments as far as the developer communicated. Both DLC entries in the store — Road to Iron Forest (November 5, 2015) and the Season Pass itself (November 5, 2015) — are fully released with no unreleased items listed. The developer's one-year anniversary post from July 2, 2016 [NEWS-9] stated clearly: "We will continue supporting the game and fix critical bugs but nothing major is going to be introduced." This was written before the Bastard expansion was in development, but it signals the studio's general posture toward the base game. After Bastard shipped in May 2018, the developer's last notable communication about Legends of Eisenwald was a September 2021 anniversary sale post [NEWS-1], which looked back nostalgically at the game's history and made no mention of any future content — instead framing Eisenwald as the studio's defining past work. No roadmap, unannounced DLC, or future content commitments have been mentioned since the Bastard release. The September 2017 promise of a short story collection DLC [NEWS-4] was the one outstanding commitment after Bastard was announced, but no such collection ever appeared as a store listing or subsequent announcement — and the developer has not referenced it since. Given that Bastard fulfilled the core Season Pass promise and the studio moved on to other projects, the content cycle for Legends of Eisenwald appears to have concluded with Bastard's launch on May 14, 2018.

There are only people - and their passions, sins and fears that often take a tangible form. Which path will you choose? Live according to your conscience? Or live by power and might? Or will you live by justice? And what is your justice, really?
