Lolita Expedition is a solo-developer Early Access RPG that has been actively developed since its January 2022 launch. The developer — a single person handling all art, writing, and programming — has shipped six major content updates over that period, progressively expanding the game's story (across 10 main chapters for the male protagonist), adding new playable characters, challenge dungeons, and systems.
The December 4, 2024 update (Version 1.9) was a substantial content drop that added a new playable character, four new challenge maps, new gameplay systems, and story supplements. In that same post, the developer gave a detailed status update: all 10 chapters of the female protagonist Ji Yu's storyline were written and complete, but still needed testing and polish before release. They planned to deliver the full Version 2.0 — described as containing "almost complete content" with over 50 hours of playtime — around Christmas 2024. After that, the path to the official 1.0 release was outlined: complete an English translation, then launch the official version with additional content including the full 22-character favorability system, the third protagonist Marta's story chapter, and a final challenge maze.
The developer also disclosed significant personal health challenges in that post, including heart problems and spinal issues, explaining the slower pace of updates during 2024. They affirmed their intention to finish the game and noted that completing it holds deep personal significance to them.
As of July 12, 2026, no post-December 2024 updates have appeared. The Christmas 2024 target for Version 2.0 has passed without a public announcement confirming delivery. This extended silence — more than 7 months after the last communication — against a prior pattern of updates every few months raises genuine uncertainty about whether development is proceeding on schedule. The disclosed health issues are a plausible explanation for delays, but no update or acknowledgment has been posted to confirm the game's current status.

In 2008, I made a game named 《Lolita expedition》 because of my interest, which won great praise unexpectedly！
Since then, a series of works have been launched, and this year is the 13th year.
So I launched the latest work to commemorate the wonderful time we spent together.
This work contains the classic content of《Lolita Expedition》, and has been remade, using the latest development of the system and play.
Because consider completely nostalgic directly play the original line, so added a lot of new elements, I hope you can feel refreshing!
