Evaluation

Mini-Dead is a compact boss-fighting game that launched on May 4, 2018. A paid expansion, Mini-Dead: Tarot, was announced in November 2019 and had a long development cycle before releasing on June 20, 2026. The expansion adds new bosses, music, achievements, accessibility options, and a post-completion difficulty system called Remembrances. Following the Tarot launch, the developer shipped two hotfix patches — one on June 21 and one on June 23 — addressing bugs introduced with the new content. A further feature patch on July 12, 2026 added quality-of-life options (visual noise toggle, auto-restart on death) and balance adjustments to the new bosses. The DLC is now fully released, there are no unreleased DLC entries remaining in the store listing, and the developer has made no announcements of additional content beyond Tarot. The July 12, 2026 patch appears to be post-launch polish rather than a signal of further major content to come. With the expansion shipped and the base game receiving only maintenance-level updates since, the game's content appears complete as of the July 12, 2026 patch.

About this game

A small game about boss fights

Mini-Dead is a short but intense boss fighting game, using a simple but incredibly effective game mechanic that runs at 144 fps which is perfect for those who want to put their 144hz monitors to good use!

Three bosses stand in your way along with a fourth, secret fight.

Simple but effect game mechanic

The controls are simple.

You move with the mouse to dodge attacks.
Click and drag to create a piercing beam that damages enemies.
Release left mouse button to teleport to the end of the beam.

What better way to fight bosses than to use your mouse! The ultimate hardware for reflex based game play.

Why "Mini-Dead?"

Boss fights are cool. The feeling of overcoming a boss is pure bliss. Mini-Dead is a compressed, little brother of meatier game Dead.
