Modern Combat 5 is no longer available for purchase on Steam — the game has been removed from the storefront with no active purchase options. The game originally launched on Steam on October 24, 2018 as a free-to-play title and received a series of major content updates through 2020, including seasonal events, new soldier classes, Battle Royale expansions, and a BattlePass system. The last substantive content update visible in developer communications was Update 36 in December 2020. In March 2021, a bug-fix patch was released, and by July 2021 the developer closed the official forums and redirected the community to Discord. No developer communications have appeared since July 6, 2021. With the game now fully removed from the Steam storefront, it can no longer be acquired by new players.
