Montague's Mount launched on November 19, 2013 as the first part of a planned two-part story — both the store description and the game's short description explicitly state it is "part one of a two part story." The developer released a small number of feature and bug-fix patches in 2014, then went quiet for nearly two years. On July 1, 2016, the sole developer posted an announcement about a Kickstarter campaign to fund Episode 2 and a full Redux that would combine both episodes into a single, upgraded product. That post is the last official communication from PolyPusher Studios. There have been no updates, announcements, or patch notes of any kind since July 1, 2016. The outcome of the Kickstarter campaign is not reflected in any subsequent developer communication, and Episode 2 has never appeared on the store. With the story unfinished by design and the promised sequel having gone silent for nearly a decade, it is unclear whether Episode 2 will ever be completed.

To thank our fans for our successful Greenlight campaign, we have added new voiceovers, clues and storylines, and also made the Oculus Rift demo available.
The mixture of cold Atlantic water and coarse sand in your mouth brings you back from unconsciousness. Surrounded by the wreckage of a boat’s hull, you can only draw one conclusion: your vessel has been torn apart by the submerged rocks. The secrets of the island must be uncovered if you are ever going to find a way to escape. Where is everyone; is the island really uninhabited; and what is lurking within the isolated caves?
