Moonstone Tavern launched on May 13, 2016 and received a handful of patches and feature updates in the months following release. A March 7, 2018 developer post announced a planned free update called "Fortunes Tavern 2" targeting July 2018, which was framed as a completion of a new engine the studio had been building. After that announcement, no further posts specifically about Moonstone Tavern appear in the developer's communication history — the developer moved on to announcing and releasing an entirely different series of games (the Gods of Havoc trilogy) in 2019. The last developer communication of any kind was in August 2019, and there have been no posts since then. The game launched with a full feature set, received post-launch patches through late 2016, and the developer's subsequent activity has been focused entirely on other projects. With over seven years of silence since the last developer communication (August 22, 2019) and no outstanding announced content, the game is considered complete. The July 2018 date is used as the estimated completion point, corresponding to the planned Fortunes Tavern 2 update window that was the last Moonstone Tavern-specific development commitment.

With the death of your eccentric aunt, you have been left the once famous Moonstone Tavern. Unfortunately the tavern has seen better days. With only two functioning rooms, crumbling architecture, and an ever-diminishing reputation there is plenty of room for improvement.
Can you turn this dilapidated ruin into a thriving business? In a fantasy world filled with cunning wizards, tricky elves, cat obsessed gnomes, grumpy dwarves, and sad fairies it certainly isn’t going to be easy, especially if you want them all to stay happy under one roof. If you are going to make a go of it there is a lot to do: staff to hire, meals to cook, ingredients to forage, quests to undertake, and gods to appease. Yet if you can survive the brutal world that surrounds you there is definitely a profit to be made!
