MOTHERGUNSHIP

MOTHERGUNSHIP launched on July 17, 2018 and received active post-launch support through the end of 2018. The developer shipped two meaningful content updates shortly after launch: the co-op update on August 21, 2018, and the Namengineers Update on October 10, 2018 — the latter adding a full new story campaign, new ship type, new boss, new game mode, new enemies, and extensive balance improvements. A bug-fix patch followed on November 8, 2018. After that, developer communication became sparse, with a single crossplay patch in July 2021 being the last update to the base game itself. The studio (Terrible Posture Games) has since moved on to new projects. In June 2022, they announced MOTHERGUNSHIP: FORGE — a standalone VR spin-off — and explicitly noted they were "still making non-VR stuff too." Since then, their public communications on the MOTHERGUNSHIP Steam page have focused entirely on new games in development: Battle Train (announced June 2024, with a Kickstarter in October 2024) and Good Boy (announced November 2025). Neither of these is MOTHERGUNSHIP content. There is only one DLC listed — the soundtrack, which released in August 2018. No unreleased DLC exists. The developer has made no announcements of future content for MOTHERGUNSHIP, and the post-launch update activity clearly concluded by late 2018, with the October 10, 2018 Namengineers Update representing the final substantial content addition. The game launched as a complete experience and received its promised post-launch content (co-op, new campaign, etc.) before going quiet. It is a finished product.
