MotoGP™21 launched on April 22, 2021 as a licensed annual sports title covering the 2021 MotoGP season. Both DLC items — a VIP Multiplier Pack and Limited Edition Liveries — were released on launch day, meaning no post-launch paid content was ever added beyond the base package. Following launch, Milestone released a series of feature patches through August 2021: adding the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup (May 3), updating riders and bikes to reflect the real-world 2021 season (May 18), adding multiplayer improvements (July 15), and adding gyroscope controller support and bike retrieval in multiplayer (August 6). After that August 6, 2021 patch, there have been no further developer communications, patches, or announcements. As an annual licensed racing series, Milestone's established pattern is to release a new numbered entry each year (MotoGP™22 followed in 2022), effectively ending active support for the prior year's title. The game launched as a complete, season-specific product, received several post-launch patches to round out the 2021 season content, and has been in a finished state since August 2021.
