Evaluation
NieR:Automata launched on March 17, 2017 and received its only gameplay DLC — "3C3C1D119440927" — on May 2, 2017. A "Game of the YoRHa Edition" bundling the base game and this DLC was announced in December 2018 and released February 26, 2019, representing the complete content package for the game.
In April 2021, Square Enix announced a technical upgrade patch for the Steam version, which shipped in July 2021 and brought improvements such as 4K UI textures, 60fps cutscenes, HDR support, and various bug fixes. This was a quality-of-life improvement rather than new gameplay content.
The remaining DLC releases are all soundtrack and music products — five soundtrack albums released on March 13, 2025, a piano collection on April 15, 2025, and an orchestra concert music CD on January 20, 2026. These are digital music releases tied to the NieR brand rather than new in-game content.
No new gameplay content has been announced or released since the 2017 DLC. The developer has made no statements about future gameplay additions. The news feed's other "major content" posts from 2021–2022 are promotions for separate games in the NieR/Drakengard universe (Voice of Cards series, NieR Replicant), not updates to NieR:Automata itself. The game's story and gameplay content has been complete since 2019, with the most recent item being a music CD released on January 20, 2026.

- Utilise the Pod Support System to Assist In and Outside of Battle – Pods can attack the enemy in both manual and lock-on modes. They can also assist outside of battle, such as allowing the player to glide through the air. Pods can be enhanced throughout the game, with upgrades including new attack methods and variations.
