Evaluation

One Manga Day is a compact free-to-play visual novel that launched on Steam on May 4, 2015. The store description presents it as a fully self-contained experience with four endings, 12 achievements, and an estimated one to two hours of playtime — a finished product by design. After launch, the developer shipped two small updates in May 2015 (Mac/Windows fixes and Polish language support) and then released the Russian Voiceover DLC on January 1, 2016 — the last piece of content added to the game. Both DLC items are released, and the store description makes no mention of any planned additions. The developer's last communication about this game was on February 11, 2017, when they announced a new unrelated title called "Wordlase." There have been no posts about One Manga Day since then, and no new content has been announced or hinted at. Given the game's nature as a short, self-contained visual novel with a clearly defined scope, the January 1, 2016 Russian Voiceover DLC release represents the completion of the game's content.
