Orebound

Orebound launched into Early Access on October 24, 2024, and Emberforge has maintained a prolific and consistent development pace ever since. Major content updates include: The Frameforge Update (May 1, 2025), Anvil Update 2: Multiplayer (June 18, 2025), The World and Gameplay Update (September 22, 2025), Anvil Update 3 (November 20, 2025), Anvil Update 4 (April 24, 2026), and a World Improvements follow-up (June 12, 2026). That's six major content drops in roughly 20 months — approximately one every three months — with additional feature patches and bug fixes in between. The developer has also been very specific and public about what comes next. A detailed "Dwarven Den 2" post on July 10, 2026 announced three distinct upcoming updates: a Mobility Update (a steam-powered dwarven vehicle and new boots), a Citadel Update (mini-games, NPC voicelines, new rooms), and Anvil Update 5 — described as their biggest update ever, bringing sweeping cave geometry changes, a patrolling enemy AI system, expanded surface and underground points of interest, and a second phase of factory content covering Gold, Silver, and Precision tiers with 6 new machines and a new Magma power system. They also referenced a third factory content phase (gem-tech tiers) planned for after Anvil Update 5. By July 17, 2026, the new cave formations were already in public beta testing on a preview branch, showing the developer is actively building toward Anvil Update 5 right now. The game is very much a work in progress, with a large roadmap of announced and in-progress content ahead of it.
