Out of Space launched into Early Access in April 2019 and reached its full 1.0 release on February 26, 2020. After launch, Behold Studios delivered two major content updates: the Robotics update on May 12, 2020, and the Mutations update on November 25, 2020 (which also coincided with the game's console release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One). The studio then shipped the Challenges Overhaul on March 19, 2021, followed by a small hotfix on May 13, 2021 — the last developer communication for this game.
On July 9, 2020, the developers explicitly stated they were winding down PC updates to focus on the console port, and that future updates would be more spaced out and limited to fixes. After the console launch and the Challenges Overhaul, no further content updates were released.
Since mid-2021, Behold Studios has moved on entirely to new projects — announcing Cosplay Club (launched into Early Access in December 2023) and most recently announcing a publishing deal with Raw Fury for Deep Dish Dungeon in August 2025. Neither of these announcements references any future plans for Out of Space. The only DLC listed is the game's soundtrack, which was released on July 30, 2026, but this is a music package rather than a content update and does not indicate ongoing game development. There are no unreleased DLC listings and no developer statements promising further content.

You and your friends are about to move into a house in space, where you will have to deal with a deadly alien infestation and face the challenges of building a sustainable spaceship, all to make your new place feel as cozy as home!
Each match starts in a procedurally generated spaceship house that will demand your best planning and teamwork skills to become clean and comfy. You and your friends will need to generate resources, recycle trash and alien goo, buy and build new technologies, and take care of one another, if you ever want to call home the mess that you got into.
As a COUCH-FUN game, Out of Space has short matches and is easy for everyone to grab a controller and play. At the same time also as a STRATEGY game, it will require short and long-term decisions, expanding and conquering new rooms and building technology to automate tasks.
