Evaluation

Overcooked! 2 launched on August 7, 2018 and received a full slate of paid DLC through its Season Pass (Surf 'n' Turf in October 2018, Campfire Cook Off and Night of the Hangry Horde in 2019, and Carnival of Chaos in September 2019). All six DLC items listed on the store are released and accounted for. Beyond paid DLC, the developers delivered a series of free seasonal updates: Winter Wonderland (December 2019), Spring Festival (January 2020), Sun's Out Buns Out (July 2020), and Moon Harvest (October 1, 2020). That October 2020 update was the last new content delivered for the game. In March 2021, the developers announced Overcooked! All You Can Eat — a separate standalone product that bundles and remastered both original games with all their DLC plus exclusive new content, effectively representing the complete, upgraded package for the series. Since October 2020, no new content has been released for Overcooked! 2 itself. Developer communication after that point has been limited to technical maintenance: an online matchmaking improvement in May 2022, a controller compatibility patch in May 2023, and a security vulnerability patch in October 2025. No future content for Overcooked! 2 has been announced at any point. The game is complete — all paid DLC has shipped, the free seasonal update campaign concluded in October 2020, and the developers have since moved the franchise forward with the All You Can Eat release.
