Path of Kung Fu

Path of Kung Fu officially launched on April 29, 2025, after a period in Steam Early Access. Since launch, the developer has maintained an active update cadence. A significant moment in the game's history came in late 2025, when the developer acknowledged going through a financially difficult period. A December 2025 update noted the team had navigated that pressure and was resuming normal updates. Then, on February 13, 2026, the developer published a detailed post confirming they had received their first revenue share in December 2025, released version 1.1.0.0 as "a true new beginning," and explicitly reaffirmed their commitment to continuing development of the game world. Most recently, on July 27–28, 2026, the developer shipped a substantial free DLC called "Blood-Stained Yellow Sands" (listed on the store as "Path of Kung Fu: Bloodstained Desert"). This update added two new world maps, five new local maps, over 80 new NPCs, dozens of new quests, new weapons and armor, new recipes, and more — representing a major content expansion. This is the largest post-launch content drop to date. The pattern of major content releases — v1.1.0.0 in February 2026 and the Bloodstained Desert DLC in July 2026 — shows the developer delivering substantial updates roughly every 6 months. The developer has not announced any specific upcoming content, nor have they indicated that development is winding down. As of today (August 17, 2026), the most recent major release was just three weeks ago, well within any reasonable expectation of ongoing activity.
