Pumpkin Jack launched on October 23, 2020 as a complete 3D platformer developed solo by Nicolas Meyssonnier. Following launch, the developer shipped a burst of bug-fix and feature patches through November 2020, and returned in December 2022 to re-enable a Christmas seasonal event that had originally run in 2020. That December 2022 post is the last piece of content added to the game itself.
By October 2025, the developer confirmed in a Steam post that he has moved on to a new project called Far Far West, noting Pumpkin Jack's success and celebrating a new peak concurrent player milestone — while cross-promoting a Pumpkin Jack cosmetic skin available in the Far Far West playtest. This makes clear that Nicolas considers Pumpkin Jack a finished, successful game and has shifted his creative focus to a new title.
The game has only one DLC — the soundtrack, which released on launch day. No additional DLC has been announced or listed. There is no roadmap, no unreleased content, and no developer statement suggesting further updates are planned. Pumpkin Jack is a complete, self-contained experience with no outstanding content commitments.
