Railway Saga: Land King has been in Early Access since May 2019 and has had an eventful development history. The studio originally transferred the game to another company during a financial crisis, then reacquired it in July 2021, at which point development resumed. Two free DLC expansions shipped in September 2021 — "Fuurinkazan" (风林火山) and "Miyamori" (弥与森) — adding new story lines and train types. Through early 2022 the team continued releasing beta test builds with performance improvements and bug fixes.
In February 2023, the developer posted a status update announcing that the game's Chinese region store listing had been re-enabled after over a year offline. In that same post, they outlined their ongoing development plans: first a round of bug fixes and optimization of existing features (including the railway company system, which had been pulled for a complete rework), followed by the addition of new systems such as an achievement system and a railway company production flow, along with more trains.
However, that February 2023 post is the last communication from the developer on any channel. None of the promised features or fixes have been publicly delivered or commented on since then — a silence spanning more than three years as of June 2026. Given that the developer had previously gone dark for extended periods (the game was effectively abandoned during the 2019–2021 ownership transfer), this prolonged silence raises real uncertainty about whether active development is continuing. The game remains in Early Access with announced but undelivered content commitments.
