Rat Quest

Rat Quest launched on May 25, 2024 as a solo-developed platformer and has received consistent updates since then: a major content update in May 2025 (shop, secrets, new levels), feature patches through early 2026, the paid DLC "The Quest For Swiss" on February 9, 2026, and a final feature patch on March 22, 2026 adding offline mode and easy mode. On March 9, 2026, the developer stated that the V1.7 controller support update would "probably be the last major update" and noted their focus was shifting to Rat Quest 2 and a second season of the connected MrRat video series. On June 12, 2026, the developer posted a message simply titled "The End," linking to a YouTube video — a clear signal that the developer considered the game's development concluded. However, on August 28, 2026, a new announcement post appeared titled "It's coming," again linking to a YouTube video. This post arrived after the apparent conclusion announcement and introduces fresh uncertainty. It is not clear whether this teaser relates to Rat Quest itself (such as a new DLC or update), to the previously mentioned Rat Quest 2, or to the MrRat video series. Until the developer clarifies what is being announced and whether it involves this game, the status of Rat Quest cannot be confirmed as fully complete.
