Evaluation
Resident Evil 7 Biohazard launched on January 23, 2017 and received all of its paid content within its first year. The Season Pass (released January 26, 2017) bundled three content packs: Banned Footage Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 (both released February 21, 2017) and the final story DLC End of Zoe (released December 12, 2017), alongside the free DLC Not A Hero (also December 12, 2017). All six items in the DLC list are marked as released, and every item in the Season Pass has shipped.
Since December 2017, Capcom has continued to maintain the game with technical updates — most notably a free upgrade patch in June 2022 adding ray tracing, high frame rate, and 3D audio improvements, a DirectX 11 fallback option added shortly after in response to community feedback, and a Windows 11 compatibility patch as recently as May 11, 2026. However, none of these updates introduced new gameplay content; they are purely technical maintenance.
Capcom's news activity on this store page is now focused entirely on other titles in the franchise — Resident Evil Village (announced 2020, launched 2021), Resident Evil 4 remake (announced 2022), and most recently Resident Evil Veronica (announced June 2026 for a 2027 release). There have been no announcements of new content for RE7 itself, and no roadmap or hints of additional DLC. The game's content development concluded with the December 2017 DLC releases.

About this game
Resident Evil 7 biohazard is the next major entry in the renowned Resident Evil series and sets a new course for the franchise as it leverages its roots and opens the door to a truly terrifying horror experience. A dramatic new shift for the series to first person view in a photorealistic style powered by Capcom’s new RE Engine, Resident Evil 7 delivers an unprecedented level of immersion that brings the thrilling horror up close and personal.
Set in modern day rural America and taking place after the dramatic events of Resident Evil® 6, players experience the terror directly from the first person perspective. Resident Evil 7 embodies the series’ signature gameplay elements of exploration and tense atmosphere that first coined “survival horror” some twenty years ago; meanwhile, a complete refresh of gameplay systems simultaneously propels the survival horror experience to the next level.
