Rogue Agent is a free-to-play turn-based strategy game that has received a sustained series of named "Operations" — time-limited events adding new flag collectibles — since at least 2020. The documented major content operations are: Operation HOPE (March 22, 2020), Operation SHOT IN THE DARK (March 15, 2021), Operation COLD FLAG (August 16, 2021), Operation BLACK CASE (April 2, 2023), Operation ICECUBE (June 25, 2023), and Operation SMOKESCREEN (December 1, 2023). This establishes a clear pattern of periodic major content releases, though the spacing between them has not been perfectly consistent — the 2021–2023 period saw operations roughly every 3–6 months, while there was a gap in 2022 before the 2023 cluster. A January 29, 2023 roadmap post ("The New Era") outlined a structured 2023 operations agenda — three operations every two months plus a final large operation in December — which was largely delivered. That same post noted an online multiplayer version was in development, with a Steam page to be published at a future date. No further updates on this multiplayer project have appeared. The most recent developer communication was a feature update on November 30, 2024, redesigning the flag inventory and refactoring the source code. This confirms the developer was still actively engaged with the game as of that date. As of today (October 8, 2026), the last developer communication was November 30, 2024 — nearly 11 months ago — and the last major content operation (SMOKESCREEN) shipped on December 1, 2023, now nearly 22 months ago. Both of these gaps exceed the 3–6 month cadence established during the 2023 active period. However, the developer has not made any statement declaring the game complete, announcing a final update, or closing the operations program. The December 2023 post noted that community-suggested flags were "under analysis and may be published in future operations," signaling intent to continue. Given the history of occasional multi-month gaps between operations (including a roughly 19-month gap between COLD FLAG in August 2021 and BLACK CASE in April 2023), the current silence, while longer than the 2023 cadence, is not entirely out of character. No end-of-support announcement has been made. The game remains in active release with no explicit completion statement from the developer.
