RUINER

RUINER launched on September 26, 2017 and received two waves of substantial free post-launch content: the Savage Update (November 20, 2017), which added New Game+, 9 new weapons, Speedrun Mode, leaderboards, new outfits, and music; and the Annihilation Update (February 21, 2018), which added the Arena: Colosseum mode, new leaderboards, achievements, finishing moves, and outfits. A minor Ultra Savage Update followed on December 1, 2017 with ultrawide support and leaderboard additions. After February 2018, no further content updates were released. On September 26, 2019, the developer marked the game's two-year anniversary and noted they had "started development on a new title" — signalling the team had moved on from RUINER. That new title is now confirmed to be RUINER 2. Starting in March 2026, the developer began posting RUINER 2 announcements directly on the original RUINER's Steam page. These posts — including the global reveal trailer (March 5, 2026), a gameplay trailer (April 21, 2026), a closed pre-alpha playtest wrap-up (May 8, 2026), and a publisher sale announcement with a formal RUINER 2 wishlist launch (June 16, 2026) — all concern the sequel, not new content for the original game. RUINER 2 is described as currently in development for PC and is in an early pre-alpha state. The original RUINER is a complete, finished game. Its post-launch content cycle concluded with the Annihilation Update in February 2018. The only DLC listed is the official soundtrack, which released alongside the game. No unreleased DLC exists, no roadmap for the original game has been communicated, and the developer's own communications confirm their focus has shifted fully to RUINER 2.
