Evaluation

Runika has been in Early Access since March 1, 2022, with the developer consistently shipping major updates throughout development — including bosses, dungeons, the town of Wealdheim, a new story intro, and most recently a full architecture system in Beta #1 (June 10, 2026). On September 26, 2026, the developer posted that Beta #2 has now begun, describing the game as "essentially finished." This beta includes the complete main story, the final boss (Go'rath, the Aether Blight), post-story content, new character races, potions, key bindings, and a range of other additions. The developer states there are "only about 5 weeks left until release," putting the expected 1.0 launch at approximately early November 2026. The game is currently available in its near-final beta form via Steam's beta branch. The full public release is imminent, with the developer using the remaining time to fix bugs ahead of launch. No content beyond the 1.0 release has been announced, and the January 2026 roadmap noted that post-release updates are expected but not specifically committed to.

  • Shape a fully terraformable world to your liking. Dig irrigation channels for your fields, lay down paths and connect everything with minecart tracks!

  • Experience a cozy adventure with challenging but fair boss fights that reward preparation and experimentation.

  • Follow the paths of the Realm-Between and explore ancient ruins to uncover more about the threat emerging from the Rift.

  • Gather resources, unlock recipes and craft hundreds of tools, decorations, meals and other useful items across many different crafting stations and ovens.
