Season of 12 Colors launched on March 14, 2016 as the first of four planned chapters in a healing visual novel series. The store description explicitly states that the initial release — "Summer: Message on the Paper Plane" — is just the first chapter, with three additional seasonal chapters to follow as DLC. The developer reaffirmed this intent in a January 7, 2017 update, stating that team members were "working hard to deliver more stories in 2017." However, no further news posts or updates have appeared after January 7, 2017, and no DLC chapters have been released. The store description still references the three undelivered chapters. The developer has not communicated any reason for the silence, nor have they announced the cancellation or completion of the remaining content. The promised DLC chapters appear to have never shipped, and the project has been effectively silent for over nine years as of June 2026.
