Serious Sam 3 VR: BFE launched on November 9, 2017 as a VR adaptation of Serious Sam 3: BFE. Following launch, Croteam VR issued a series of patches through 2018, adding hardware support (Windows Mixed Reality on February 2, 2018), DirectX 12, Virtuix Omni movement, and various bug fixes. The last substantive update was a Fusion engine patch on November 16, 2018. After that, developer communication went quiet for years, with no new features, DLC, or content announcements. The only post since 2018 was a hotfix on May 16, 2025 to resolve a license verification issue affecting all of Croteam's VR titles — a purely technical fix, not a content release. No DLC has ever been listed for the game, no roadmap or future content has been announced, and the store description makes no mention of planned additions. The game shipped as a complete VR port of an existing title and has received no content expansions. It can be considered a finished product, with the last meaningful development activity concluding in November 2018.
