Shapik: The Moon Quest launched on April 22, 2020 and received a handful of post-launch patches — bug fixes in the days after release, a feature update adding highlighted interactive areas in November 2020, and an achievements/trading cards update in February 2021. An optimization patch arrived in October 2024. The only DLC ever released is the official soundtrack, which shipped on May 15, 2020.
The developer (Paul Podberezko) has since moved on to other projects. A December 2023 Kickstarter and a June 2024 release announced a separate game, Shapik: The Quest. More recently, as of August 2025, the developer announced another new title, Whispers Among the Poppies, with a demo updated for Steam Next Fest in October 2025. None of these announcements reference any new content coming to The Moon Quest.
The October 2024 optimization patch indicates the developer still maintains the game technically, but there have been no announcements of new story content, levels, or expansions for The Moon Quest. The developer's creative focus has clearly shifted to new projects. The game launched as a complete narrative experience and has been content-complete since its final substantive update in November 2020.
