Skeleton Boomerang

Skeleton Boomerang launched on July 31, 2017 and has a meaningful post-launch history. A Hard Mode update shipped on November 1, 2017, a major graphical overhaul called "reVamped" arrived on October 31, 2020, and the Vampire Hunter Mode roguelike DLC launched on May 1, 2021 and is now fully released. The developer then issued patch notes through October 3, 2021 before going quiet. On March 26, 2024, the developer posted that the game was in its "permanently final state," citing an insurmountable engine problem (an unsupported old version of GameMaker Studio that could no longer even be authorized). This appeared to close the book on Skeleton Boomerang. However, on November 2, 2024, the developer reversed course and announced "Skeleton Boomerang: Postmortem" — a substantial free update promising multi-language translations, a Boss Rush mode, new color palettes for the player character Hunter, and fresh content and adjustments to both Hard Mode and the Vampire Hunter DLC, including reimagined music tracks from multiple musicians. This announcement clearly supersedes the earlier "final state" declaration. The problem is that as of June 27, 2026 — more than 19 months after the Postmortem announcement — the developer has not posted any further updates about the update's progress or release. Given the previous declaration that the game was finished due to engine limitations, and the now-prolonged silence following the Postmortem announcement, it is unclear whether this update is still being developed, has been quietly abandoned again, or has shipped without a corresponding news post.
