Evaluation
Skirmish Line launched out of Early Access on March 21, 2019 after a development period the studio described as reaching feature completeness. At launch, two DLCs were announced: "Mad Jack" and "United Front." Both shipped within a couple of months (April 22 and May 23, 2019 respectively). A third DLC, "Top Brass," was released on December 29, 2019. All three DLCs are now released with no unreleased items remaining.
Following the DLC releases, the developer continued delivering free feature updates. The most recent of these was Build 1.6.3 "Ramgarh" on March 19, 2021, which the developer described as "the 7th major post-release update, and possibly the largest non-DLC patch to date," and celebrated as the game's 2nd anniversary. The post was written in a reflective, celebratory tone — "Skirmish Line has gone a long ways since its release. Thank you to everyone who has supported the game!" — consistent with a developer wrapping up rather than looking ahead to new content.
There has been no developer communication of any kind since March 19, 2021 — over five years ago as of today's date. No future content has been announced, no roadmap published, and no unreleased DLC exists on the store. The developer's January 2019 communication explicitly stated a shift to a "slower development cycle" due to dampened revenue, and the last post's language was retrospective rather than forward-looking.
With all announced DLC shipped, a long post-launch update history concluded, and more than five years of complete developer silence, the game is best understood as a finished product. The March 19, 2021 update marks the point at which content development effectively concluded.
Evidence
Build 1.6.3 released on the game's 2nd anniversary, described as the 7th major post-release update and 'possibly the largest non-DLC patch to date.' The post ends with retrospective thanks to supporters — the last communication from the developer to date.
Top Brass DLC released — third and final DLC for the game.

About this game
As an Allied tactical commander in the Pacific Theater, you are in charge of fending off the fierce Imperial Japanese military whilst adapting to an ever changing environment. Build trenches, call in artillery, upgrade your squad, and lead them to victory.
Skirmish Line is a Mud-and-Blood-like game, taking core fundamentals such as as a bird's eye view camera, semi-autonomous units, and heavy randomization. Skirmish Line aims to deliver an updated playing experience, featuring new mechanics and content. Both fans of Mud and Blood and new players alike will find the game challenging as they face off against the fanatical Imperial Japanese army, featuring a host of exotic weapons, vehicles, and of course, the infamous Banzai charges.
Skirmish Line is a brutal and difficult endless defense game featuring three modes:
Defense in Depth
Defend three positions in succession against the relentless Imperial Japanese Army. If the enemy overruns, you will retreat to the next position. Should you find the enemy assaults too overwhelming, you may manually fallback to the next position. Do you retreat in order to preserve the lives of your men, or do you put up a determined defense in order to hold valuable ground?
Point Defense
For a more traditional experience, Point Defense is stylized after Mud and Blood 2. Advance forward to find favorable terrain or to gain valuable command points to spend on new soldiers, weapons, and defenses. But be careful, there is no retreat, no fallback positions in this mode!
Campaign Mode
Build and manage your own squad in a persistent campaign, spanning multiple missions. You will be pressured by the overzealous theater commander to succeed on your missions at all costs, pitting the lives of your men versus the mission's objective. As you progress, you will be sent on more dangerous missions. Use your renown as a field commander to purchase powerful upgrades in order to keep your squad alive and to complete the mission.
Ribbons, Medals, and Rank
Complete extraordinary feats to earn ribbons and medals. Each ribbon or medal offers benefits to your squad. Gain access to special weapons, soldiers, and new tactics as you rank up.
