SquadBlast is a free-to-play cross-platform multiplayer shooter that launched on October 15, 2023 and has been continuously updated since. The developer, ULTRAHORSE, shipped a major content update (0.9.17.0) on March 24, 2026 — introducing limited-time events, a loyalty shop, community map graduation into matchmaking, level cap increases, and more — followed by another major update (0.9.18.0) on July 22, 2026, adding three new guns, a sweeping balance overhaul, matchmaking changes, and a teased Summer event with rewards and "a few things we're still keeping secret." A hotfix (0.9.18.1) followed on August 20, 2026 — just one week before today — noting that "there's still more cooking behind the scenes." The March 2026 update also explicitly stated that limited-time events will continue "over the next few months." The game is structured around rotating cosmetic events, weapon cases and parcels, a loyalty shop with in-game currency, and community-driven content pipelines — a design intended to run and monetize indefinitely. Developer communication has been consistent and recent, with no indication of any slowdown in operations.
