Evaluation

Stone Simulator – Just Be a Rock launched into Early Access on March 2, 2025 and officially graduated to its 1.0 release on August 19–20, 2025. Since then, the developer (STFGames) has delivered a steady stream of substantial free content updates at a consistent pace. The game has received four major content drops since its 1.0 release: Multiplayer mode for up to four players (October 24, 2025), the ECHOES Update adding a new Canyon map and in-game voice chat (May 31, 2026), and the Space Update on September 28, 2026, which added an entirely new space map to Zen mode with procedurally generated scenes, three new achievements, reworked menus, and various other improvements. This establishes a clear pattern of major updates roughly every 2–4 months. The September 28, 2026 Space Update post also announced that STFGames has launched a new game, SOMNIUS, into Early Access — but the post frames this as a celebration alongside new Stone Simulator content, not a signal that Stone Simulator development is ending. The developer writes "we're not done with this little rock yet" (in the May 2026 ECHOES post) and there is no statement from STFGames indicating that Stone Simulator updates are concluding. The Space Update itself is the most recent communication, dated today, confirming the team remains actively engaged with the game.

About this game

Be a stone / rock / boulder. Do nothing. Just exist.

Relax, meditate, and watch the seasons change in the most peaceful simulator ever.

Ever wondered what it’s like to be a rock?

Become an unflinching stone in a serene, ever-changing world. Survive centuries of seasons, weather, and absurdly mundane adventures. Grow moss, collect bird poop, and question your existence—Stone Simulator is the Zen meditation you never knew you needed… or the most boring game ever. You decide!

Stone Simulator is a whimsical, meditative experience where you embrace the thrilling life of a literal rock. Observe the world passively as decades fly by, seasons shift, and nature (or chaos) unfolds around you.

Gameplay Highlights:

  • 🌦️ Seasons & Weather: Survive blizzards, summer heatwaves, autumn and spring rains.

  • 🕰️ Time Flies: Watch days, years, and centuries pass

  • 🏆 Absurd Achievements: Unlock meme-worthy trophies like "Existential Crisis" (do nothing for 3 years) and many other.

Why Be a Rock?

  • Zen Mode: Chill with calming ambient sounds and minimalist visuals.

  • Meme Fuel: Perfect for streamers craving irony or players who enjoy "so bad it’s good" humor.

  • Zero Skill Required: Your only job? Exist. (Seriously, you can’t even move.)
