SWORD ART ONLINE Alicization Lycoris

SWORD ART ONLINE Alicization Lycoris launched on July 9, 2020 and received a consistent stream of post-launch content over two years. The developer shipped multiple free story updates (the "Ancient Apostles" series), feature patches expanding gameplay systems, and two major paid DLC expansions: "Blooming of Forget-me-not" on November 2, 2021 and "Blooming of Matricaria" on July 25, 2022. The Premium Pass (DLC-1) bundled both of these expansions, and all four DLC entries in the store listing are now released with no unreleased items remaining. After the second major DLC shipped in July 2022, developer communications shifted away from Alicization Lycoris entirely. The news posts from 2024 and 2026 are announcements for entirely different SAO games — a demo for "SWORD ART ONLINE Fractured Daydream" (December 2024) and a demo for "Echoes of Aincrad" (June 2026). These are separate titles, not content for Alicization Lycoris. A March 2026 milestone post celebrating 10 million copies sold across the SAO console game series is a franchise-wide celebration, not an indication of continued development for this specific game. The two major DLCs shipped roughly eight months apart (November 2021 and July 2022), but no further content was announced or hinted at after the second DLC launched. The developer has been silent on this title since July 2022 — nearly four years as of today, June 23, 2026. All DLC included in the Premium Pass has shipped, no unreleased content exists in the store listing, and all post-2022 developer activity points to newer titles in the franchise. The content for Alicization Lycoris is complete, with the final piece being the Blooming of Matricaria DLC released on July 25, 2022.
