Syrup 2: Candy Alchemy RPG launched into Early Access on October 31, 2025. At launch, the developer (NomnomNami) openly stated the game is still being worked on — specifically that the story is not yet complete — and chose Early Access precisely because there is "plenty to enjoy in the meantime." The game remains flagged as Early Access on Steam. Since launch, the developer has shipped one major content update (the Timber Update on December 2, 2025, adding a new boss and storyline), plus two feature patches adding Korean (May 14, 2026) and Spanish (July 7, 2026) translations. The most recent post, from July 7, 2026, includes an apology for the "lack of new story content" and acknowledges the developer has been focused on bringing older games to Steam. This confirms the story content is still planned but not yet delivered. The developer has been consistently communicative and active throughout, with posts in October 2025, December 2025, May 2026, and July 2026. There is no indication of studio distress or abandonment — just a solo developer managing multiple projects at once. The game is clearly a work in progress awaiting its full story completion before it would be ready for a 1.0 release.

SYRUP 2: CANDY ALCHEMY RPG is a direct sequel to my 2015 visual novel, Syrup and the Ultimate Sweet. As the title implies, the series has evolved into a fully featured RPG! Synthesize candies, battle monsters, and complete quests while discovering more about the world beyond Atelier Sweets!
