Evaluation

Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival launched on November 6, 2024 and is built as an ongoing live service rhythm game. The store description explicitly advertises the "Taiko Music Pass" — a subscription that provides access to over 700 additional songs with new songs added every month. This is a core, monetized rotating content structure by design. The DLC release history fully bears this out in practice. Bandai Namco has shipped at least one new song pack every single month since launch, with recent examples including Kids' Pack Vol. 5 (June 3, 2026), the Chiikawa Anime Collab. Pack (June 25, 2026), HATSUNE MIKU Pack Vol. 7 (July 1, 2026), and Anime Pack Vol. 7 (August 5, 2026) — all within the past few months. That's over 21 consecutive months of monthly content releases with no indication of the cadence slowing or ending. The game is designed by its nature to receive ongoing song additions indefinitely.
Evidence
Anime Pack Vol. 7 released on August 5, 2026 — the most recent DLC, confirming the monthly release cadence continues.
