Talisman: The Horus Heresy launched on February 22, 2016 and received a full slate of paid DLC expansions and character packs through July 2017, along with a free character drop on May 31, 2018 as part of a Games Workshop promotional event. That May 2018 event represents the last known content addition to the game. In June 2020, the developer announced that the game would be removed from all storefronts on June 22, 2020, citing the expiry of publishing rights. They confirmed that existing owners would retain access but that no new content would follow. The game was subsequently delisted. On April 14, 2026, the game was relaunched on Steam as part of the "Warhammer Classics" initiative — a curated collection of older licensed Games Workshop titles brought back in partnership with SNEG and Games Workshop. This relaunch is presented as a preservation effort, not an active development restart. No new content, updates, or roadmap were announced alongside the relaunch. All nine DLC items in the store listing are marked as released, with the most recent dating to July 2017. The game's content was effectively complete as of May 31, 2018 (the last content addition), and the developer's 2020 delisting statement made clear there were no further plans. The 2026 relaunch restored availability but introduced no new content commitments. This is a finished game now back on sale as a classic title.
