Evaluation
Chaos Reborn launched from Early Access on October 26, 2015. At launch, the developer stated that updates were planned over the coming months — and they delivered. The game received a steady stream of substantial additions through 2015 and 2016: a single-player realm quest campaign (December 2015), a new Law Mode game mode (June 2016), new spells, a friends and co-op system, epic gear customization, a guilds system, and localization for multiple languages, among other updates.
The last developer communication is a patch note from December 23, 2017, in which the developer acknowledged being "continuing to work on new content" but had "nothing major to release yet." That post — now over eight years in the past as of June 2026 — represents the final update to Chaos Reborn. No further patches, announcements, roadmaps, or developer statements have appeared since. The sustained update cadence that characterized 2015–2017 has completely stopped.
It is worth noting that one news post from September 2020 (NEWS-1) appeared in the scan results, but it concerns Phoenix Point — a separate game by the same developer — and has no bearing on Chaos Reborn's development status.
The game launched as a feature-complete product, received meaningful post-launch content additions over roughly two years, and then went quiet. There are no unreleased DLC items on the store, no outstanding commitments, and no recent developer communication. Chaos Reborn is a finished game.

About this game
From Julian Gollop, the designer of the original, award-winning XCOM game comes Chaos Reborn - a turn-based wizard combat game with single player Realm Quests and many online options. Between 2 and 6 players can challenge each other to magical duels in a variety of arenas using a spell deck of interesting spells and creatures - including the Gooey Blob, Shadow Wood, and more. There is a monthly league system and several game modes with live or asynchronous battles. You can explore the Realms of Chaos fighting Wizard Lords and Kings, and invite players to join you in co-op battles, or act as an invader in someone else's realm. These Realms can be designed by player Wizard Kings and rated by other players.
