THE KING OF FIGHTERS 2002 UNLIMITED MATCH launched on Steam on February 27, 2015 as a complete, fully-featured port of the arcade/console title. Since then, SNK and Code Mystics delivered a series of meaningful updates: a community beta for rollback netcode in October 2020, the full rollback netcode major update on November 11, 2020 (adding rollback networking, 64-bit support, match playback, and improved graphics settings), a second major update on January 19, 2022 adding online lobbies and spectating, and a final feature patch on March 30, 2022 adding Spanish localization and various fixes. There are no unreleased DLC listings, no announced upcoming content, and no developer roadmap pointing to future updates. The most recent developer communication was the March 30, 2022 patch. Since then — over four years as of June 2026 — there has been no further activity from SNK on this title. The game's store description presents it as a complete, self-contained product with no mention of ongoing content delivery. The post-launch update history represents meaningful quality-of-life and online infrastructure improvements, but these concluded in March 2022. The game launched as a finished product and the subsequent updates enhanced it; with those enhancements now fully shipped and no new commitments made, the game is complete.
