Evaluation

The Last Plague: Blight entered Early Access on October 3, 2024 and remains there, with the developer targeting a Q1 2027 full (1.0) release. The game is a solo-developer project that has been actively and consistently updated throughout Early Access. Two major content updates have shipped: v0.11.0 on July 15, 2025 (introducing the injury system, advanced multi-story building, and seasons) and v0.12.0 on February 17, 2026 (the NPC Update, adding survivor camps, a trading system, and an in-game economy). These have been followed by multiple feature patches and bug fixes, with the most recent post on September 17, 2026 inviting players to test a new save system beta (v0.12.8b) — a prerequisite for cloud save support the developer plans to add later. On May 19, 2026, the developer published a detailed 1.0 release timeline outlining substantial content still to be built: late-game Blight-clearing mechanics, expanded survivor NPC interactions and trading, new world generation features, many new items and crafting recipes, glassblowing, new home-building objects (chairs, stoves, beds, roofing), and a proper narrative conclusion to the story arc. This is a clear and specific commitment to a large volume of content that has not yet been delivered. The developer has also stated (September 26, 2025) that they plan to continue releasing free updates for years even after the 1.0 launch. The game is on an active development path toward a defined 1.0 milestone, with regular updates continuing to ship as of September 2026.

About this game

Endure an authentic survival experience unlike any other in The Last Plague: Blight. Carefully tend to your well-being, brave countless threats, and overcome daunting challenges in a disease-ridden, procedurally generated open world. Delve into the heart of the Blight and bring it to an end.

An obscure disease known as the Blight has descended upon the land. Barely escaping its devastating effects, you find yourself exhausted, starving, and alone in the wilderness. But when an enigmatic figure emerges from the darkness, a glimmer of hope appears on the horizon. Are you willing to risk your life to eradicate the Blight, or will you allow the disease to consume you?

Survive a perilous open world built around punishing realism, immersion, and depth. Whether you're cooking, crafting, or gathering materials, every task consumes precious time. Water must be boiled to ensure it's safe to drink, and raw materials require proper treatment before they can become the tools necessary for survival. Hunger, hydration, and energy must be carefully managed while resting at camp or exploring the wilds. Never let your guard down, because danger takes many forms. Wild beasts and harsh elements constantly threaten your well-being, so do whatever it takes to survive in a procedurally generated world that does not want you in it.

Key Features:

  • An authentic survival experience rooted in realism and immersion

  • A procedurally generated open world and its inhabitants

  • Co-op multiplayer

  • Complex cooking, crafting, farming, and building mechanics

  • A dynamic terraforming and shelter-building system with walls, floors, and roofs that are not locked to a grid

Upcoming Features:

  • Continuation of the story and a meaningful long-term goal

  • Cooperation and trade with other NPC survivors as you rebuild

  • Animal taming

  • Localization in additional languages (Polish, Italian, Japanese, and possibly more)
