The Last Remnant was a 2009 Square Enix RPG that was permanently removed from sale on Steam. Square Enix announced on August 24, 2018 that digital and physical sales of the PC version would be discontinued, with sales ending on September 4–5, 2018 depending on region. A follow-up post on September 4, 2018 confirmed the suspension of distribution and explicitly stated that any plans to restart sales were "yet to be confirmed." No such restart ever occurred. The game is no longer purchasable on Steam, confirmed by the absence of any purchase options. Existing owners retain access and can still download and play the game, but new purchases are not possible. No DLC or post-launch content updates were ever released for the PC version, and there have been no developer communications since September 2018.
