The Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle-earth

The Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle-earth is a companion app for the Fantasy Flight Games board game. It launched on April 18, 2019 and has received four major content campaigns over its lifespan: Shadowed Paths (July 10, 2020), Haunting of Dale (October 22, 2020), Spreading War (October 7, 2021), and Poison Promise (October 25, 2022). All three DLC packs listed on the store have been released, and no new DLC or upcoming content has been announced. The last major content release was Poison Promise on October 25, 2022. Since then, the developer has continued to release maintenance patches — the most recent being a minor bug fix on October 6, 2025 — but no new campaigns or content expansions have been announced or teased. A notable feature update in March 2024 introduced AsmoConnect cross-platform cloud saves, indicating the developer is still maintaining the app, but this represents infrastructure work rather than new game content. The major content releases followed a rough annual cadence from 2020 through 2022, but that cadence has not produced a new release since October 2022 — now nearly four years ago. No roadmap, announcement, or hint of future content has been communicated. The game appears to have concluded its content lifecycle with Poison Promise, continuing only in a maintenance capacity.
