The Swapper

The Swapper is a self-contained narrative puzzle game that launched on May 30, 2013. It was designed and shipped as a complete, finished product with no post-launch DLC or expansions — the DLC list contains no entries, and the store description makes no mention of additional content. The developer has not released any major content updates since launch. The recent activity from March through May 2025 consists entirely of a maintenance patch series focused on compatibility and quality-of-life improvements: fixing input bugs, updating the Steamworks SDK, improving audio, adding visual options, and achieving Steam Deck verification. These are purely technical upkeep patches — not new content. The developers explicitly described the work as "addressing bit rot that had accumulated over the years." A 2019 post from one of The Swapper's developers announced Noita, their next game — signaling the team had moved on to other projects years ago. The game is complete as originally shipped, and the recent maintenance work simply ensures it continues to run well on modern hardware.
