Throne and Liberty is a free-to-play MMORPG that launched on October 1, 2024, and continues to receive a rapid, sustained stream of major content. The game is designed as an ongoing live service with no defined endpoint. Since the previous evaluation (June 21, 2026), substantial new content has shipped. The Frozen Divide: Nix (Update 4.0.0) launched June 24–25, 2026, as the game's largest expansion to date, adding a new region, a new weapon class (Gauntlets), a level cap increase to 60, and a complete item system overhaul. Post-expansion updates have followed in rapid succession: Update 4.1.0 (July 1, 2026) addressed balance and bugs; Update 4.3.0 (July 15, 2026) added a new Battlegrounds mode and Guild Raids; and Update 4.5.0 (July 29–31, 2026) introduced Archboss Ramux, new Dimensional Trials, and new Guild Raids. Update 4.9.0 has been pre-announced for August 26, 2026. The game features ongoing monetized content cycles including Battle Passes (the "Shattered Realms" Battle Pass launched July 1, 2026), seasonal Battlegrounds seasons, and continuous cosmetic DLC packs (the most recent released June 25, 2026). All of this is consistent with a game architected for indefinite live service delivery. There is one notable development to flag: on August 12, 2026 — just one day before today's assessment date — Amazon Game Studios announced that starting in Q4 2026, live operations for the Western version of Throne and Liberty will transition from Amazon Game Studios back to the game's original developer, FirstSpark Games / NC. Amazon framed this as a positive handoff, describing it as "handing the game back to the developers" whose "passion for Throne and Liberty can continue to be realized." There is no indication of a content pause or shutdown; Amazon stated they are working closely with NC to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption. The game remains fully available for purchase and active development is ongoing through and beyond the transition window.
