Tinkerlands entered Steam Early Access on May 23, 2025 and remains in active development by CodeManu. Since launch, the game has shipped three major updates: v0.2.0.0 'Volcano Update' (stable release September 18, 2025), which added Volcano Island, a pet system, PvP, mod support, and more; v0.3.0.0 'Towns & Dwellers' (unstable December 1, 2025; stable February 2, 2026), which added Day Island, Night Island, mounts, an enchantment system, NPC friendship, and a weather system. On February 18, 2026, the developer published a comprehensive 2026-2027 roadmap. The team deliberately extended their update schedule to avoid burnout and deliver higher-quality releases. The next major update, v0.4 'Seas of Fortune,' is targeted for Summer/Fall 2026 and will include shipbuilding and sailing, a Pirate Island with a contract system and Pirate Outpost, new character classes (notably the Musician), and a Codex rework. Following that, v1.0 'Beyond the Horizon,' planned for Early 2027, will mark the official launch out of Early Access, bringing the Endless Tower (post-game content), Miasma Island (the final progression island), Cursed Islands, a final boss, expanded NPC content, and full Steam Workshop mod support. Monthly devlogs have continued throughout 2026. The June 2026 devlog (posted July 1, 2026) previewed ship building and navigation systems, a Bug Net tool, Bard buffs, and larger chests. The July 2026 devlog (posted July 31, 2026) — the most recent communication — confirms the v0.4 update is nearly ready, showing off the new Rusty Factory island, the Mecharachnid boss, the Pirate Invasion town event, a Fungal Island mushroom-war event, and the Musician class wielding the Shredder weapon. The developer explicitly states they are "getting very close to the next major update."
