Evaluation
Totally Accurate Battlegrounds originally launched as a paid game in June 2018, then relaunched as a free-to-play title on April 1, 2021, introducing a battle pass and in-game shop. A major update in July 2021 expanded the battle pass and reworked content. However, in February 2023 the developers explicitly stated that no developers are actively working on TABG anymore because the game is not generating enough revenue to cover its own costs. Their stated goal since then has been simply to keep the servers running as long as possible.
The game has continued to face operational challenges. In June–August 2023, it suffered a prolonged DDoS attack that took servers offline for weeks, requiring a full networking rewrite to resolve. In February 2024, community-hosted servers were opened to all players. In October 2025, a security patch was applied, and the in-game shop was noted as intermittently broken. Most recently, in March 2026, the developer disclosed that their server provider Multiplay is shutting down, which broke server connectivity again. Official servers were temporarily restored, but the team is still working on a longer-term migration. The in-game shop remains broken with no known fix.
There is no content roadmap and no announced future updates — the developer's own words confirm the game is in maintenance-only mode with an uncertain infrastructure future.
Evidence
Server provider Multiplay is shutting down, breaking official server connections. Developer is looking for a migration solution. Community servers are the primary way to play in the meantime. In-game shop also remains broken.
Developer explicitly states no developers are actively working on TABG anymore due to the game not being able to support its own costs. Intent is to keep servers running for as long as possible.
