Tree of Life is no longer available for purchase on Steam. The developer, OddOneGames, announced in December 2020 that the game would be removed from sale on January 31, 2021, citing an inability to provide ongoing support and a desire not to sell a game without follow-up development. The studio confirmed that existing owners can still download and play the game via their Steam library, and that servers would continue to be maintained — but new purchases are not possible. Active development on Tree of Life itself stopped in March 2019. The studio has since shifted its focus entirely to a sequel titled Tree of Life 2, which is being developed under the separate Steam listing for "Tree of Life: Oddria" (App ID 1149450). Developer news posts from March and April 2025 show active progress on Tree of Life 2, including gameplay systems like construction, network stress testing, and skill/mastery mechanics — but these updates pertain to the new game, not this one. Because the game cannot currently be purchased, it is assessed as delisted.
