Umurangi Generation

Umurangi Generation launched on May 19, 2020 and received one major paid expansion — Umurangi Generation Macro — on November 7, 2020, adding four new levels and nine new pieces of equipment. After that, the developer continued shipping feature patches and bug fixes through September 2021 (patch 1.16, which added new language packs, ultrawide support, and custom level tools), followed by a final bug-fix patch in May 2022 tied to the Xbox/Game Pass launch. All three DLC entries in the store are released, and no new DLC has been listed since 2020. Critically, on May 4, 2026, the developer (Tali at ORIGAME DIGITAL) published a post announcing their next game, Penguin Colony, explicitly framing it as the studio's move forward after Umurangi Generation: "That was our first game and we are looking to make more games faster and better... it's time to move forward to the next one." The developer also noted that "we still have some fixes to make on PC," signalling ongoing minor maintenance is possible, but no new content for Umurangi Generation is planned — the studio's focus has fully shifted to Penguin Colony. With only one major content expansion ever released (Macro, November 2020), no unreleased DLC on the store, no roadmap or announced future content, and the developer explicitly moving on to a new project, Umurangi Generation is a complete, finished game. The completionDate reflects the last substantive feature update (patch 1.16, September 6, 2021), after which only bug-fix maintenance followed.
